Exista doua acuzatii care plutesc in blogo.ro-oaie, reflectie probabil a osanzei intelectuale din societatea rumuneasca. Prima, apartinand cu predilectie "influenzilor", ca esti prost. A doua, venind de obicei de la cocalari, ca esti frustrat. Cea de-a treia, hater, nu mai incape aici.

As I'm starting this article, there's a ton of things I want to talk about, and I'll be lucky if I have the time to get into 2 of them. First, Simona Halep's amazing win against Serena Williams, then I'd like to talk about Romanian accomplishments, education, verbal aggression, debating skills, and Sfinx / Dan Andrei Aldea. Let's see how far I manage to get.

@BAndreescu_ (#BiancaAndreescu, ofc) catapulted herself so fast to stardom that I am having difficulties forming a mental picture of her. And so are most of her new fans, attracted to her rising star like loving insects to the blinding light. The current culture clash about some Norwegian child welfare agency having seized a Romanian couple’s children over physical discipline and the ensuing protests coming mostly from religious groups has a recognizable background: it’s a rehashing of the century-old conservative vs liberal quarrel. I have respect and admiration for Norway and their altruistic, enlightened and generous foreign policy and foreign aid, but this case may be more than just that.

The latest news item about the Romanian Royal House (more precisely, King Mihai's daughter) is not particularly flattering to them, but is an excellent metaphor for state violence, in continuation of the previous article, on the police brutality incident suffered by a Romanian dentist in Alberta.

In ultima salva din dezbaterea "nature vs nurture", un studiu de la Harvard (1) publicat in Science baga ultimele cuie in sicriul determinismului genetic (credinta ca IQ-ul este determinat de gene si nimic altceva). Studiul demonstreaza clar ca un copil pierde puncte IQ pentru fiecare luna petrecuta in orfelinat.

Scenele de abundenta extravaganta de la festivalul rromilor din Costesti, unde fiecare familie pare sa aiba un Mertzan sau BemVe, sunt in contrast cu viata pe care o traiesc majoritatea. Rromii, veniti cu secole in urma din nordul Indiei, sunt 8 milioane in Europa, din care cei mai multi ar fi in Romania (2 milioane).

I suspect the show is put on so that the French people can convince themselves that they still have a heterosexual president. "Is his lover a woman? Are you sure? Well, then we can keep drinking wine, eating cheese and live long!" Meanwhile, I'm annoyed as hell that a friend of mine won't (or pretends she does not) get my jokes.

I’m publishing it here as encouragement (longer version), with the spelling mistakes left uncorrected but listed at the end, and also detailing there the formatting work I (still) had to do.
