Although I already said I’m not voting, due to atrocious bureaucratic hurdles at a time when it was supposed to be as easy to vote as possible in the most expensive election so far, I’m having second thoughts. Voting is an opportunity to give some unknown hopeful a chance, so I will have a quick look at the lesser known candidates who are worthy of a second look (apart from frontrunners).

The elections for the European Parliament are coming up soon, and this time around, I decided to ask all candidates a few questions and post their answers. But before sending these questions, it makes sense to look at the details, the first and most important being that the voting day is May 26 between 7:00 and 21:00, local time (EST) and there’s not voting by correspondence.

Cei doi proaspeti alesi reprezinta practic poluri opuse in preferintele blogosferei. In timp ce Iulian Urban este, probabil, printre cei mai contestati senatori, Varujan Pambuccian ramane cel mai sprijinit parlamentar de catre bloggeri si nu numai. Ambii au castigat in circumscriptiile respective.

Rezultatele sunt sau ar trebui sa fie binecunoscute deja: PDL a fost pedepsit de cei suparati ca le-au fost taiate salariile si pensiile, iar USL a fost rasplatit fiindca le-au marit in ciuda lipsei banilor si-n ciuda faptului ca salariile si pensiile n-au legatura cu reprezentantii locali si politica locala.

Dupa ce am trecut in revista cam tot ce-am putut gasi scris de ea si despre ea in viest cat si epopeea cumpararii Nadirs de la amazon, hai s-o injuram nitel cu drag si cu stima..

In conditiile in care peste 99% din voturi au fost numarate, putem discuta despre rezultatele alegerilor. Ma refer in principal la alegerile diasporei, despre care am dat amanunte si am discutat candidatii. Aici vom discuta rezultatele intermediare.

Those of us who haven’t forgotten the recent elections (and this includes some of those happy with the results as well as those who predicted a PSD win, were proven wrong and keep looking for a reason to save their reputation) are still somewhat surprised. In my previous election adventures, I have relied heavily on the 'testvote' application and even shared and commented my results with you, my readers. I was planning to do the same this time, then I noticed something peculiar: all the candidates have virtually the same position! Upon further investigating, it appeared that either the application has been updated in the meantime or there was an error due to poor Internet connectivity and bad coding.

The title means “Romanians vote anticorruption”, but then I realized that Romanians know what happened, it’s foreigners who might be more interested in what I have to say about it. I wish I could write a celebratory article, but I can't. Most Romanians who lined up seem to think that they are voting against corruption, but have they really?

Not only did Klaus Iohannis manage to snatch victory from the claws of the Red Menace, but he did so by a huge, devastating margin AND on the surge in voter participation not only in the diaspora, but also in our birthplace. It’s a November Christmas miracle!
