Cei doi proaspeti alesi reprezinta practic poluri opuse in preferintele blogosferei. In timp ce Iulian Urban este, probabil, printre cei mai contestati senatori, Varujan Pambuccian ramane cel mai sprijinit parlamentar de catre bloggeri si nu numai. Ambii au castigat in circumscriptiile respective.

One thing about population in Romania that we can all agree on is that it is in free fall. A recent article has revealed to me that, supposedly, the number of Romanians moving out of the city and into the country side is greater than the number of Romanians moving into the city.

#WTA has recently confused #Romania anti-#corruption #rezist #protest with people coming out in the streets to welcome and congratulate Simona Halep in her recent Grand Slam triumph (gsp-tnr). It’s not only foreigners not getting what’s going on, but even some of those protesting.

Un prieten din New York publica intr-o expozitie din Brasov. Nu mi-este foarte clar ce publica, dar m-am gandit sa public si eu despre el. Afisul e alaturi. Expozitia nu-i cu Mircea Badea, dar articolul, da. :) Si cu ~, mai precis.

Imi amintesc uneori de anumite poezii sau cantece mai mult sau mai putin cunoscute. Le caut pe Internet-ul romanesc si nu le gasesc. Si m-am gandit sa le transcriu, atat cat imi amintesc..

Doua stiri oarecum interesante ma-mping sa sparg tacerea in care m-am cufundat in ultima vreme. De fapt sunt trei, dar doua au de-a face cu Romania.

Recent, Adevarul a publicat un clip din metroul japonez. Chipurile, asta ar trebui sa faca romanii sa se simta mai ghinisor cand stau 3 ore in trafic sa mearga un 1 km. Am mai scris pe blog despre inghesuiala nationala din Bucuresti si cum sa te-nalti peste trafic.

A while back, I was having an argument (well, it’s more like I was trying to have a conversation with my designated troll, banned since) about the downside of population decline (PD). He demanded to know why is it bad (which is what I was trying to say) and I thought I provided some studies, but while searching, I was unsatisfied with the quality of the studies I had found. (The title term refers mostly to economy (i.e., population drops below the level required to carry the economy or more specifically old age pensions) whereas PD refers to demographics.) Since then, I’ve found a bit more so here it is.

About two months ago, Maftei, my math teacher in high school, has passed away (fb-maftei). I felt sorry, and that’s why the expression he used to invite us to the blackboard (“iesi pe straße” or “come out on the straße/street”) found its way in the title of this article, which is about the high-school physics teacher Sever Iosif Georgescu and his (or his kids’?) attempts to erase the negative events of his past. There were seemingly two Romanians running for Toronto Mayor: Radu Popescu and Michael Nicula. Radu Popescu has not listed anything other than his name, while Michael Nicula has listed a lot of info, but nowhere is it mentioned that he is (or was) Romanian.
