Romanian Movies at TIFF 2015 Toronto

There was a time when talking about TIFF meant an image. Then, starting around 1975, it meant the Toronto International Film Festival. Then Romania thought that copying this name is OK, and now I find that I have to differentiate between tiff.ro and tiff.net. Here we are simply listing the Romanian movies at TIFF.net (in Toronto).

comoaraI did not really have the time to go to see Romanian movies or any other movies in this year’s festival. But I promised a friend I was going to tell him about it and I’d better do so, before it’s all over.

  1. The Treasure Porumboiu – 7.2 – 251: Sep 17, 7:30pm, Isabel Bader and Sep 20, 10am, Bell Lightbox
  2. One Floor Below Muntean – 6.5 – 112: Contemporary World Cinema: I totally missed it, but not George Motoc
  3. Blue Spring Bortun – nv: Short Cuts Programme 2 – Sep 18, 2:45pm, Scotiabank 11
  4. Remaining Lives Cocora – unr: Short Cuts Programme 5 – Sep 19, 12:45pm, Scotiabank 11
  5. Box Serban – 7.9 – 11: Contemporary World Cinema – Sep 19, 9:30pm, AGO Jackman Hall

Apart One Floor Below, which has no screenings left, all the other movies can still be seen before the end of the festival (3 days left). Advance tickets are $25, rush line $20. Good luck!
