Romanian Movies in Toronto

I just learned of two significant Romanian movie events in Toronto: Porumboiu's Whistlers is having its (wide?) release and TIFF a "survey" of 50 years of Romanian Cinema.

Whistlers NNNN reviewed in Now Toronto magazineThis article wasn't in the cards even a couple of hours ago. But then I had a look in the Now Magazine, and found a Porumboiu movie quite highly rated, then stumbled on a TIFF “survey”.

I’ll try to finish this before COVID-19 takes me, especially since a buddy from U of T, Andrei Tanasescu, recently returned from his European tournament, seems to be the programmer.

The “survey” has a few movies I have seen and a few I haven’t. And, I’ll be damned! It’s worth confronting COVID for some good movies. It’s either this or taking advantage of cheap flight tickets and lack of tourists everywhere I ever wanted to go..
