Iata ca numai bine ce s-a terminat Craciunul, si-au inceput preotii sa-si dea la gioale (2,3). Si cu maturi (simbolul vrajitoarelor), nu cu manusi de box!

Vuiet mare-n blogo.ro-oaie ca gubiernul plateste, zice-se, 500000 de euroi pentru un site. Este o prostie gubernamentala, sau o dovada a senzationalismului blogosferic? Si e senzationalismul ceva strict blogosferic, sau se-ntampla si-n presa de pe copaci morti?

Sunt in chinurile facerii mai multor articole lungi si nici nu am timp, asa ca pana incepe cuptorul uterin sa beep-aie - adica pana le zamislesc - ce-ar fi sa ne uitam la Indexul Democratiei si ce ne dezvaluie despre Romania si-alte tari?

Am constatat ca-n ultima vreme nu prea mai am timp sa citesc bloguri. Aproape toate stirile de care aflu le culeg din twitter si cam tot acolo reactionez la ele. Scrisul pe blog necesita un oarecare efort de vointa.

There are two subjects that seem to dominate the Romanian public sphere (I would say blogo.ro-oaie, but that's defunct): the religion choice in schools and the New York Times Op-Ed on corruption in Romania. I’m very tempted to make a nice hot stew out of both, but I’ll try to keep each to its own article.

Dupa ce-am dezbarligat nitel promovarea turismului romanesc, ne oprim asupra unor scandaluri mai recente si poate mai reale. Este vorba despre moneda cu patriarhul antisemit si, poate intr-un articol viitor, atacul lui Sarko impotriva romilor.

Ioan Pop, the priest with the All Saints Romanian Orthodox Church was just charged with sexual assault at church. Apparently, a woman barely escaped only after a couple walked in on what was going on.

Never have I hesitated to make my views on Romanian immigration known. I think that most people leaving the country for good are better off living in Ro (though European tourism needs to expand, especially among college students, who also have Erasmus to take advantage of). That is why I’m conflicted about “Maria’s Manifesto”, a rather incongruent and emotional appeal to “patriotism”.

So many scandals in Romania, so little time. It's hard to decide what to write about. I can't read Romanian news - everything is clickbait and when I try reading something, I invariably find grammar, spelling or logic (or all of the above) mistakes. I choose to write about a "scandal" that happened toward the end of March, because none of the opinions I've read explain what's going on to my level of perception.

Am aflat recent de o manifestare romaneasca. Organizat de biserica Sf. Gheorghe, evenimentul va avea loc in P-ta (Sq.) Mel Lastman, unde se afla si fostul North York City Hall (primaria). Un prilej cum nu se poate mai bun de a vorbi despre bisericile romanesti din Toronto.

It's a sad day for Ioan Pop, his family, and Romanian Christian Orthodoxy in general, but on the bright side, the abused women are finally getting some closure and Ioan Pop won’t have a chance to repeat his weird brand of sexual religiosity. As usual, I am not content with only reporting on the news; I have a few other things to say.

The fatalities count has gone North of 30, and I try to parse all the data, info and opinions that are squirting on the Internet much like the absent fire extinguishers should have in the infernal basement.

The current culture clash about some Norwegian child welfare agency having seized a Romanian couple’s children over physical discipline and the ensuing protests coming mostly from religious groups has a recognizable background: it’s a rehashing of the century-old conservative vs liberal quarrel. I have respect and admiration for Norway and their altruistic, enlightened and generous foreign policy and foreign aid, but this case may be more than just that.

Dupa ce i-am condus pe bulgari de ceva vreme, iata ca am ramas iar in urma. Reformele s-au oprit, economia e inca in cadere libera, si toate deciziile drastice au fost amanate dupa alegeri.

Scriam acum un an, cand abia incepusem sa bloghez, despre o cafteala intre preoti de Craciun la Church of Nativity. Iata ca nici n-a trecut anul, si iar impart ei mesajul lui Cristos de toleranta, mila si non-violenta.

Ma tot gandeam sa organizez un concurs de vanatoare de greseli de logica. Nu de alta, dar abunda in blogo.ro-oaie, pe forumuri, in ziare, la TV. Ca sa nu mai vorbim da casa omului.

After writing about the sexual assault complaint about Ioan Pop on September 13, I was even considering going to the October 15 court appearance. It turns out that a court appearance has already taken place before I had a chance to wake up (and I’m still on antibiotics).
