While I am naturally a bit upset by the multiple levels of irony in this story, I have to admit I'm also quite irritated and disappointed. It appears that the German police has actively engaged in ethnic profiling at the Saxony Highfield festival, reported in the German press as "racial profiling", most likely because of the Gypsy/Roma/Romanian Confusion. Let us consider this news together with a few more concerning the diaspora.

A recent “viral” video clip shows the Romanian president, Klaus Iohannis, moving the Union Jack (the UK flag), out of the way as he talks to reporters. This act of “elimination” is probably the least interesting of the ones discussed herein.

Though it may be unfair to extend the failure of the Romanian National Press Agency (Agerpres) and the Romanian External Affairs Ministry to an entire nation, let us not forget that part of their job is to represent the country. The recent faux-pas, confusing the French contours with the German one in a one-print commemorative brochure is, unfortunately, indicative of the dilettantism that has taken over the Romanian government.

Discussing the tragedy is inescapable. I had started doing this a few days ago, focusing mostly on Andrei Anghel, but didn’t have the time to say all that I wanted to say, which is why I’m continuing here.

I have been staying away from the news of the moment, but this recent tragedy hits extremely close to home, whichever way a member of the Toronto Romanian diaspora (including myself) chooses to define that notion.

Recently, a lot of cyber-ink has been flowing re: the British xenophobia and more specifically, the fear that waves of Romanians and Bulgarians will invade Britain in search of non-existent jobs or, even worse, of welfare payments.

I was going to let this one pass, but the stink is still with me days after I got wind of it.

Cum n-am mai folosit encriptie de mult timp, m-am gandit sa cifrez cateva bucati din articolul care urmeaza, sa vedem ce si cum iese. Cheia folosita mai gios este sa-ncriptam cu Magicianu si functioneaza numai pe sit, nu si in flux.

Este greu de evitat scandalul Severin, cu atat mai mult cu cat nu demult vorbeam despre Nastase si in episodul anterior despre Malaxa. Nu cred ca Severin este mai corupt decat alti politicieni europeni; este insa mai prostut si mai naiv si, ca si diplomatul din Singapore si in general oamenii proveniti din societati in deriva, cam fara busola etica.

Dupa ce-am prezentat izvorul marelui rahat prezidential si primele cateva reactii, iata-le si pe urmatoarele.

Asta-i un titlu mult prea fain ca sa-l ratez. Pentru cei care nu le au cu romgleza, seamen inseamna marinari, semen inseamna sperma. Cel mai probabil acesti semeni ai nostri were free(d) to cum home. 

Un articol recent publicat de Gheorghe Funar intr-un ziar constantean anunta ca aceasta ar fi ajuns la 140 de miliarde de euro. Datoria externa a unei tari pare sa streseze multi din cetatenii acesteia si in acelasi timp este putin inteleasa. Ne uitam nitel la motivele stress-ului si la cat este de indreptatit.

O noua poveste cu spioni, iranieni si bombe nucleare a-nceput sa ma enerveze. Ce-ar fi sa-ncercam s-o privim dintr-o perspectiva mai mult sau mai putin istorica?

Vorbeam despre moastele Sfantului Nectarie care-au fost recuperate. Iata ca si capetele de maori au razbit prin birocratia franceza si pornesc la lungul drum catre Noua Zeelanda.

Articolul initial, in care incepusem sa dezbat gandirea d-lui Nastase iesise mult prea lung. L-am spart in doua, precum Sgt John din marina britanica Titanicul.

Am descoperit un film care contine dovezi incontestabile si de nezdruncinat ca voturi au fost aproape vandute si cumparate in diaspora. Nu suntem siguri in acest moment daca filmarea a fost facuta in Toronto, Berceni sau Asia Minor. Cercetarile continua. (LE: Filmul a fost intre timp cenzurat de YouTube.)

Asa cum ziceam, am fost sa votez la consulat. Unde am gasit romani, am stat de vorba cu ei (lucru bun) si m-am enervat asteptandu-mi docomentele (lucru mai putin bun).

Eroul nostru - adica eu - intra in Consultatul Roman, dupa ce s-a-nvartit prin alte parti, fiind in intarziere din motive multiple cum ar fi vina sa, mai precis o adanca incapacitate de a prognoza timpul real necesar chestiilor care nu-i plac. Oare mai si iese? Citeste si afla!

Ce, credeai ca obtinerea unui pasaport romanesc in Canada poate fi povestita intr-un singur articol (primul despre pasaportul romanesc)? Nici pomeneala! Aici afli ce s-a intamplat mai pi larg.

Am fost la Consulat sa-mi scot pasaport, prilej cu care iar am inceput sa ma-ntreb daca eu chiar sunt roman, sau numai am alte asteptari. Daca insa te astepti sa ma plang de serviciile consulare, s-ar putea sa fii dezamagit.
