I’ve recently noticed a tweet that seems to indicate the Romanians are 3rd among EU countries least happy with free movement in Europe. That’s remarkable. Why would that be?

I have previously echoed on this blog news about Romanians in the #diaspora. This time, we’re discovering the story of a girl born in an #Austrian refugee camp to a Romanian mother and an (absent) Italian father, who was reborn in an aboriginal village.

Whenever I talk to Romanians who want to come to Canada and I answer questions, I always end up being a bit upset. I find that people ask me too many simple questions they could answer themselves with Google and too few of the “important” questions. Maybe there’s a guru hiding inside of me, and here’s where I set him free.

When friends ask me about immigrating to Canada, my first answer is always DON’T!. However, though I’ve already written about this in the past, I have yet do so in English, so I’ll do so here, especially since yesterday I answered another reader.

A recent documentary about Romanians and their come on Channel4 was left seemingly ignored on this blog (though announced more than a week ago: 1, 2), so I hereby correct this oversight. The “EAT ME” photo refers to a similar but Canadian story.

Never have I hesitated to make my views on Romanian immigration known. I think that most people leaving the country for good are better off living in Ro (though European tourism needs to expand, especially among college students, who also have Erasmus to take advantage of). That is why I’m conflicted about “Maria’s Manifesto”, a rather incongruent and emotional appeal to “patriotism”.

Imboldit de intrebari cum ar fi cea a Dianei Coman, am decis sa sparg tacerea asternuta pe acest blog cu o stire din UK. Aflu dintr-un recent articol in Daily Mail ca britanicii sunt pe cale sa interzica sau sa restrictioneze accesul doctorilor si asistentelor medicale din Romania la piata muncii, urmand exemplul spaniol, francez si italian, violand spiritul normelor UE.

Cineva – persoana ajunsa aici de cativa ani – m-a intrebat recent cum sa procedeze in cazul in care incearca sa ajute pe cineva si este injurat(a) si cum sa gaseasca de lucru. Voi simplifica intrebarile pentru a le face cat mai generale (si-n consecinta, mai folositoare cat mai multor potentiali cititori).

Montreal Gazette ziarul cotidian echivalent presupun cu Toronto Star, publica un reportaj de la o ceremonie de acordare a cetateniei canadiene. Cap de lista - o familie de romani.

Dincolo de stirile economico-schengen-oase, stirile cu privire la piata (sau piazzeta) muncii imi par interesante. De multa vreme ma bate gandul sa deschid in tara o fabrica de sape de lemn, dar am impresia ca toti specialistii au trecut in onlain.

Stirile despre Romania din presa straina abunda, cand ochiul antrenat le cauta. Sa discutam povestea unui roman ajuns in Canada intr-un container din Italia.

Articolul Mirunei Cugler, o jurnalista proaspat emigrata a ajuns in Top 5 al articolelor din primele editii Decat O Revista. Este despre experienta emigrarii, vazuta de o fetita cu ochi mari si negri.

Lightplay, cercetatoarea care m-a ajutat cu lista diasporei (diaspo.ro), a inceput un chestionar destul de ambitios adresat disaporei romanesti din Canada. Lansat acum 2-3 zile, si promovat aproape exclusiv “din gura in gura”, sondajul a primit deja cu mult peste 100 de raspunsuri.

Ultima parte din "instalatia de PiaR", dupa logo, fronda frunzei si moneda, in acest canicular mijloc de vara se refera la indarjirea demagogica de care Sarko s-a gandit c-ar fi electoral indicat sa dea dovada, si modul oarecum nesabuit dar totodata adorabil in care Base pune paie pe focul xenofob.
