It's a sad day for Ioan Pop, his family, and Romanian Christian Orthodoxy in general, but on the bright side, the abused women are finally getting some closure and Ioan Pop won’t have a chance to repeat his weird brand of sexual religiosity. As usual, I am not content with only reporting on the news; I have a few other things to say.

Ioan Pop, the priest with the All Saints Romanian Orthodox Church was just charged with sexual assault at church. Apparently, a woman barely escaped only after a couple walked in on what was going on.

After writing about the sexual assault complaint about Ioan Pop on September 13, I was even considering going to the October 15 court appearance. It turns out that a court appearance has already taken place before I had a chance to wake up (and I’m still on antibiotics).

There are two subjects that seem to dominate the Romanian public sphere (I would say blogo.ro-oaie, but that's defunct): the religion choice in schools and the New York Times Op-Ed on corruption in Romania. I’m very tempted to make a nice hot stew out of both, but I’ll try to keep each to its own article.

Cred ca sunt mai multe de spus despre optiunea sinuciderii, exersata recent de fostul premier Adrian Nastase, in lumina spuselor avocatului lui Nastase, Lucian Bolcas. E important de retinut ca desi condamnat la 2 ani de “zeghe” el ar fi executat oricum numai 8 luni.

I have meant to write at length on this individual and, as expected, not only that reality caught up with me, but it left me far behind. I never expected for things to go this far, which is why I am revisiting it now.

Iata ca m-am invrednicit si eu sa-mi pun pe hartie gandurile apropo de votul de azi. Am incercat sa citesc si cateva bloguri, dar opinia predominanta este ca trebuie sa votam nul fiindca asa, vezi Doamne, i-am pedepsi pe politicieni. Dupa cum i-am spus si lui Arhi, in comparatie cu ideea de a nu vota sau a vota nul, ideea de a-ti bea propria urina este geniala.
