Este greu de evitat scandalul Severin, cu atat mai mult cu cat nu demult vorbeam despre Nastase si in episodul anterior despre Malaxa. Nu cred ca Severin este mai corupt decat alti politicieni europeni; este insa mai prostut si mai naiv si, ca si diplomatul din Singapore si in general oamenii proveniti din societati in deriva, cam fara busola etica.

Ma plangeam recent ca ma bombardeaza Adobe cu reclame, ca sa vin in tara sa lucrez pentru ei. S-ar zice ca nu numai in ce ma priveste pe mine strica ei orzul pe bonobo.

In the past few days, most of the Romanians I know received two important gifts: PSD didn’t win the elections and Dragnea, its [widely considered] corrupt boss, was sentenced to jail and went there shortly thereafter. Though I’m not a Dragnea/PSD fan, I find the celebrations a bit empty. I believe that the hostility and inadequacy of the police response is rooted in the attitude that Prof Butoi has expressed and this bigotry is the root cause of police inaction and incompetence.

In a significant development, the full transcript of the 112 calls by the last victim, Alexandra Măceșanu, has been published. It is unclear to me if these are the official transcripts or rather what some of those who have listened may have remembered or clandestinely recorded. I do not expect that the official transcripts are any different and I am publishing them along with the censured victim-blaming comments made in 2010 by Tudorel Butoi, who continues to provide his “expert opinion” in TV shows.
