Lipsa fortei de munca si migratia masiva

Thrown (Ţâpat) in , ,

Thrown (Ţâpat) in , ,

Thrown (Ţâpat) in , , ,

Romanistan IV - Moldova

Thrown (Ţâpat) in ,

The ink on the Romanistan series (I, II, ) had yet to dry when news that the Russians are blaming Roma migration on Romania has, verisimilarly, sprung up from Nezavisimaya Gazeta.

iohannis = luther + ostsiedlung (Cf2C VIII)

Thrown (Ţâpat) in , , ,

My notwithstanding, I suspect most of the people who voted for Iohannis do not really know who he is, apart from the fact that he is not Ponta. I'm trying to bring a bit more color and background to his wooden personality.

Is suburbia village or countryside?

Thrown (Ţâpat) in , , ,

One thing about population in Romania that we can all agree on is that it is in free fall. A recent article has revealed to me that, supposedly, the number of Romanians moving out of the city and into the country side is greater than the number of Romanians moving into the city.

Voting MEPs with TestVote 2014

Thrown (Ţâpat) in , , , ,

I suspect there is a 'TestVote' application for each member country of the EU. I decided to follow my own recommendation from Romanian MEP elections in Toronto and go through this, just before voting. Since there is very likely an English one in existence, and the English vote has already concluded, this article has the questions left in original, in Romanian.

Nu toti emigrantii o duc bine…

Thrown (Ţâpat) in , , , ,

free movement vs libera circulatie

Thrown (Ţâpat) in , , , , ,

I’ve recently noticed a tweet that seems to indicate the Romanians are 3rd among EU countries least happy with free movement in Europe. That’s remarkable. Why would that be?

Alegeri Diaspora Europarlamentare MEP 2019 in Toronto

Thrown (Ţâpat) in , , , ,

The elections for the European Parliament are coming up soon, and this time around, I decided to ask all candidates a few questions and post their answers. But before sending these questions, it makes sense to look at the details, the first and most important being that the voting day is May 26 between 7:00 and 21:00, local time (EST) and there’s not voting by correspondence.

Liiceanu-Dragnea - Moralia 403

Thrown (Ţâpat) in , , , ,

When discussing corruption, my view is that Romanian corruption is not much higher than elsewhere, when comparing apples to apples. It irks me to hear people who try to motivate their compatriots with calls to make “corruption” like and idyllic West, because in so doing, they prove they do not know much about the West (or they have misunderstood what they’ve learned), and are also selling short their own country.

another year, another national celebration bombs

Thrown (Ţâpat) in , ,

I’m not a nationalist and though I wish my Romanian friends “La Multi Ani” for our national holiday, a small part of me is uneasy, because nationalism means association with people who share your ethnic background, some good, some bad, but in our case (and, of course, excepting those I know personally), mostly bad.

Glosar de Religii I – Grafice si Sarbatori

Thrown (Ţâpat) in , ,

Am mentionat in articolele precedente sarbatori religioase ale altor credinte cat si cele ale crestinatatii ortodoxe.

DW documentary on Romanian children beggars

Thrown (Ţâpat) in , , , ,

#atatsaputut: As busy as one gets, occasionally there is the old "something wrong on the internets" feeling, and that was triggered by this Deutsche Welle free documentary about Romanian Roma kids begging on the streets of Paris as well as in the Parisian Metro (subway / tube) and how the French and Romanian authorities are dealing with it.

It's not a lot, but “atat s-a putut”.

Romanian Beggars Invade Sweden

Thrown (Ţâpat) in , , , , ,

The stuff I haven't told you yet about Anaughtia (see previous and still unfinished, at this time, article) is on my mind, fighting its way into a sequel. But it will be a while. There are other stories for other blogs that also searching for a way out of my head. Until then, a somewhat easier subject, on Sweden.

Agerpres and Romanian MAE Fail European Geography

Thrown (Ţâpat) in , , , ,

Though it may be unfair to extend the failure of the Romanian National Press Agency (Agerpres) and the Romanian External Affairs Ministry to an entire nation, let us not forget that part of their job is to represent the country. The recent faux-pas, confusing the French contours with the German one in a one-print commemorative brochure is, unfortunately, indicative of the dilettantism that has taken over the Romanian government.

The Peculiar Case of Gypsy and Dee Dee

Thrown (Ţâpat) in , , , ,

A relatively recent tragic murder and Munchausen by proxy case is a pretext to look at how Romani / Gypsy / Roma people are perceived, the guilt of their children and mob mentality.
