I had a pact with a German friend to write the stories of our first time (not together, but rather the cherry-popping kind). She chickened out, and I, rather than publish my story unilaterally (which I might do in the end, quite possibly passworded), I've decided to tell you another one.

I have been staying away from the news of the moment, but this recent tragedy hits extremely close to home, whichever way a member of the Toronto Romanian diaspora (including myself) chooses to define that notion.

The Romanian expression would be “niste carnati expirati” though in English I could’ve called them hotdogs or patsies just the same. Now, I owe a new installment in an older series, due to a debt born in comments; I know that and I’ll get to it eventually. I just discovered a new TV series and it's awesome but you shouldn't watch it because you're not going to understand it. Only I can.

Following Strelnikov’s suggestion and Max’ confirmation, I started listening to Balanescu Quartet. I liked it and thought that it’s worth an article. Which I started a few months ago and am completing today, especially since I have a few new/s (times).

Discussing the tragedy is inescapable. I had started doing this a few days ago, focusing mostly on Andrei Anghel, but didn’t have the time to say all that I wanted to say, which is why I’m continuing here.
