Am avut recent o discutie cu Mircea Popescu despre IuEsavEi, al carui blog l-am descoperit dupa ce mi-a lasat un comentariu. Si iata ca descopar prin Arhi scrisoarea unui roman angajat la Google catre cei ramasi in tara. O redau si-o comentez.

Toamna is iarna inmormantam ce-i mort sau pe moarte, cum ar fi relatiile. Unele, desi inca misca, ar fi murit singure si de capul lor, mai devreme sau mai tarziu. Am primit recent o leapsa de la puttycat, cu ce sau cum mi-a fost furat si mi-a ramas in minte. Trec peste evidenta tenta materialista a lepsei - e mai important ce ramane-n minte, sau ce poti tine-n palma? Raspunsul nu conteaza, a fost o vreme cand am trait si eu in foame. Articolul initial, fiind prea mare, a fost spart in inca doua: Nokia si Sony.

I’m becoming a Nastase hater. Can’t this guy just disappear from news altogether, or realize that we’re no longer in the 50s and the 70s are over?!

Recently, a friend asked me to provide Romanian lessons. I directed her to Duolingo (invite) and, as I occasionally listen to Romanian eTeatru (or “teatru radiofonic”), it occurred to me that this is something worth sharing with the rest of the world.

This is an (Austro?-)German movie shortlisted for the Foreign Oscar and filmed in Bucharest. It’s great and rated 7.6 on IMDB, with a Metascore of 93. It is also remarkably warm and positive toward Romania.

I recently wrote a poem for a poem for a friend who was seemingly fading away in the background. She had posted this self-accusatory and spelling-challenged photo and then went on and on commenting some stupid blog.

Whenever I talk to Romanians who want to come to Canada and I answer questions, I always end up being a bit upset. I find that people ask me too many simple questions they could answer themselves with Google and too few of the “important” questions. Maybe there’s a guru hiding inside of me, and here’s where I set him free.
