I wasn’t planning to write about this game, even though it impressed me and it’s the biggest victory in Romanian tennis. But my Internet is off right now, it will take a while to restore and between writing this article and playing some silly games, writing wins.

I have meant to write at length on this individual and, as expected, not only that reality caught up with me, but it left me far behind. I never expected for things to go this far, which is why I am revisiting it now.

Citeam la @arhi nu demult o discutie pe tema pedofiliei. Si cum mi se-ntampla tot mai des in ultima vreme, desi discutia era pe cat de rationala poate fi o astfel de discutie ce contine implicit multe emotii, am fost infuriat de cateva prostii ridicate la rangul de "statistici".

Un proiect interesant al catorva mari tembeli ai (anti)culturii romanesti care s-au strans laolalta si s-au gandit sa faca un proiect oarecum dement, fatal si totodata lebadaios: o revista care s-apara intr-un singur numar si cateva exemplare. Si o propozitie fara predicat.

I have been staying away from the news of the moment, but this recent tragedy hits extremely close to home, whichever way a member of the Toronto Romanian diaspora (including myself) chooses to define that notion.

The complainant tries to have it both ways, claiming some kind of allegiance to the party and desire to keep the story private, while maintaining the right to “privacy”.

When discussing corruption, my view is that Romanian corruption is not much higher than elsewhere, when comparing apples to apples. It irks me to hear people who try to motivate their compatriots with calls to make “corruption” like and idyllic West, because in so doing, they prove they do not know much about the West (or they have misunderstood what they’ve learned), and are also selling short their own country.
