Articolul asta aparuse initial ca parte din raspunsul la leapsa originata de mish si primita de la puttycat. Articolul acela, fiind prea lung, a fost spart in trei: un ciob in San Fran, unul pe litoral si acesta, cu camerele phuto.

De cand cu Michael Bryant, czar-ul justitiei ontariene care nici macar n-a fost judecat dupa ce a ucis in vazul tuturor un biciclist, am fost tare curios sa vad cum s-ar descurca justitia romaneasca intr-un caz similar. Iata ca Elena Turcu, judecatoare, a fost prinsa conducand beata si apoi achitata.

About two months ago, Maftei, my math teacher in high school, has passed away (fb-maftei). Partea a 2-a din seria inceputa cronologic cu furtul din San Fran, de data asta despre un furt real petrecut in Romania, nu ca cel cu camera, care, kipurile, n-ar fi. Incepusem sa cred ca n-am mai patit asta, dar chiar deloc, dar dupa indelungi sapari in memorie, mi-am amintit. Nu prea ma gandesc la asta ca la un furt, ci mai degraba o oportunitate de a-mi lua un telefon mai nou, dupa care deja tanjeam.

Ever since I have decided to focus on English language blogs, I find every now and then news about Romania that beg to be commented. I never have enough time to do so, but today, as I read about the chewing gum thieves, I shall make an exception.

There was a time when women were dreaming of a “knight in shining armour” but a steady decline in the prestige of shiny things coupled with a long set of economic crises have put an end to those romantic times. Today women seem to want a man who’ll pay and they rely on the State for protection and Facebook and/or Twitter for DIY reputation management (aka PR). A recent article on dating and paying for it (ctch-tspr) reopened a long-forgotten subject, a subject I haven't attacked in a while (since between 12 and 12-B, to be exact), despite a desire and even a plan to do so.
