There were seemingly two Romanians running for Toronto Mayor: Radu Popescu and Michael Nicula. Radu Popescu has not listed anything other than his name, while Michael Nicula has listed a lot of info, but nowhere is it mentioned that he is (or was) Romanian.

Este interesant de vazut cat de repede se raspandeste o stire in blogosfera romaneasca. La ora scrierii acestui articol, Google Blogsearch listeaza 7 pagini de rezultate despre Cuil.com si pana cand citesti tu, vor sari de zece. Un prilej excelent sa ne uitam la motoarele de cautare si cum au evoluat.

Sanatatea romaneasca a fost dintotdeauna la pamant. Probabil ca unul din motivele principale are de a face cu cateva tare culturale pe care le vom examina in curand, cat si cu faptul ca suntem, ca medie generala, niste tampiti.

Ioan Pop, the priest with the All Saints Romanian Orthodox Church was just charged with sexual assault at church. Apparently, a woman barely escaped only after a couple walked in on what was going on.

A while back, I was having an argument (well, it’s more like I was trying to have a conversation with my designated troll, banned since) about the downside of population decline (PD). He demanded to know why is it bad (which is what I was trying to say) and I thought I provided some studies, but while searching, I was unsatisfied with the quality of the studies I had found. (The title term refers mostly to economy (i.e., population drops below the level required to carry the economy or more specifically old age pensions) whereas PD refers to demographics.) Since then, I’ve found a bit more so here it is.

Am fost intrebat in repetate randuri cum am introdus codul de trimitere a paginii pe Yahoo Messenger sau cum sa adaugi automat codul de trimitere pe Blogoree (Bligg). Nu-i dificil, dar e mult de explicat. Si chit ca nu termin, m-am gandit ca macar sa-ncep.

Prin calatoriile mele bloggeristice, dau deseori peste atitudini si luari de atitudini cu care nu-s de-acord. Chestia asta se-ntampla deseori in blogo.ro-oaie. Cel mai recent s-a-ntamplat cu accidentul lui Cornel Nistorescu (CN).

Am gasit o discutie interesanta despre romi si ce e de facut, cu voce tare, unde mi-am dat si eu cu pararea. Si pentru ca mi-am dat mult si bine, m-am gandit sa-mi reproduc propriul comentariu aici, cu mici modificari, ca sa-l regasesc cand am nevoie.

Today I met another European woman. Originally from Spain, she told me she worked in the Czech Republic for a while as a translator. Upon learning I'm Romanian, she also felt the need to share with me that there were "a lot of Romanians" in the Czech Republic who wanted to come to Canada but couldn't, because there is no visa treaty. When I told her that there were some problems here with Czech Roma getting visa through fraud and the visa had been suspended, her reaction was to remove her Czech work experience from her resume, out of fear that “Czechs now had a bad name.”

Vorbesc de tare mult timp despre o dezbatere cu si despre proprietatea intelectuala si copira(i)tul la romani. O astfel de dezbatere a fost gazduita si de Economist in sectiunea lor de dezbateri si-a iesit tare faina, dar a avut loc mai putin in blogo.ro-oaie. In acest prim articol voi mentiona cateva din argumentele vehiculate in aceasta dezbatere si voi incerca sa evit cateva “cai gresite”.

Exista doua acuzatii care plutesc in blogo.ro-oaie, reflectie probabil a osanzei intelectuale din societatea rumuneasca. Prima, apartinand cu predilectie "influenzilor", ca esti prost. A doua, venind de obicei de la cocalari, ca esti frustrat. Cea de-a treia, hater, nu mai incape aici.
