I have in the past voted for the (former) President Basescu and even raised to his defence (more or less) when he was accused of slapping an impertinent child. Yet his latest display of inconsistency is more than I can bear.

In articolul despre pasarei am adus in discutie unul dintre argumentele “primare” homofobice: Biblia si mai precis Leviticus 18:22. Acest argument a fost discutat si ras-discutat in trecut, asa ca m-am grabit sa traduc o scrisoare veche catre o comentatoare conservatoare care s-a pronuntat public impotriva homosexualitatii.

About two months ago, Maftei, my math teacher in high school, has passed away (fb-maftei). I felt sorry, and that’s why the expression he used to invite us to the blackboard (“iesi pe straße” or “come out on the straße/street”) found its way in the title of this article, which is about the high-school physics teacher Sever Iosif Georgescu and his (or his kids’?) attempts to erase the negative events of his past.
