Much to my surprise, a movie featuring Elisabeth Hurley and filmed entirely partly in Romania has no review that I can find.

I watched it a few days ago and promised myself I’ll write down my thoughts before this forgettable creation disappears from memory. On the plus side, I identified a Romanian actress in it.

I'm not sure how and why I ended up watching two movies in one evening, but I did. Maybe it was a need to procrastinate, maybe it was the "monster storm" that shut down New York and was raging outside.

A friend of mine published an article in medium on communism and entrepreneurship (ana-medium) and Aferim!, a movie a cousin of mine was involved in producing has hit the theatres, and I feel a debt of honour to write about each one. So hard to stay focused and write meaningfully is. 

I recently watched a with a rather long title (Cand se lasa seara in Bucuresti sau Metabolism) movie at TIFF13 and I thought I share my views with you. The article is unfinished, but I feel so sick, I might have a brain-wasting disease and I’d better publish it while I still can. 

Not a great movie. Interesting at most, but I thoroughly enjoyed watching it.

This is an (Austro?-)German movie shortlisted for the Foreign Oscar and filmed in Bucharest. It’s great and rated 7.6 on IMDB, with a Metascore of 93. It is also remarkably warm and positive toward Romania.

This is one of the best movies I’ve seen this year and, as the poster suggests, it is quite “pulpy”.

With all the March 8th celebrations, I got this idea about writing an article about each important woman in my life, starting with early childhood or as far as my memories go. That would take a while.

Though the premise is not original (Weird Science 1985, s1m0ne 2002, Pixel Perfect 2004, or Pygmalion, Pinocchio and Frankenstein) and this is a Hollywood, almost Disney movie to its core, the treatment is not that bad - it's actually quite refreshing. Here’s the trailer.

I haven’t been able to find many movies with by Romanians or about Romanians at TIFF 19 (Toronto International Film Festival) I thought I mention them before the Festival is over.

I didn't use to listen to a lot of pop, but Adrian Enescu is a composer responsible for more than 80% of the Romanian pop music I used to listen to as a kid. I thought it might be a good idea to share it with whomever might hold an interest in it.

I just learned of two significant Romanian movie events in Toronto: Porumboiu's Whistlers is having its (wide?) release and TIFF a "survey" of 50 years of Romanian Cinema.

I just got a press release about a new Dacian-themed movie. I wish I could tell you more, but unfortunately have yet to watch this movie.
