Much to my surprise, a movie featuring Elisabeth Hurley and filmed entirely partly in Romania has no review that I can find.

Cateva stiri despre filme romanesti la / si festival-E-uri.

Uichendu' trecut nu mi-au iesit toate pasientele, si m-am gandit sa ma confesez si sa-nghit niste carbohidrati imbibati in vin dup-aia. Si uite-asa m-am trezit cumparand un belet pe care de fapt il castigasem...

Cum ziceam in 10 intamplari, Vineri am fost la vizionarea unei selectii de filme romanesti facute de studenti UNATC ca proiecte de graduare. Multe au fost premiate la diverse festivaluri, si dupa vizionare am avut un Q&A cu profesori de film de la York University.

Ce poate fi mai existential decat aceste doua subiecte? Tratarea lor in doua filme superbe, filme care mi-au marcat dezvoltarea psiho-sexuala.

N-am gangurit demult pe seama intamplarilor de-aici, si s-or adunatara multe, asa ca-mi voi da drumu’. Roman cardar, Rosia Montana Redivivus, tiganii Obama, capsunari lefteri, criza care inca nu se simte pe bune, indienii ne invadeaza, online boom, crime si prostii si-n final, festivalul filmului romanesc in Toronto. Dupa oaresce framantari si emotii, aflam ca Festivalul Filmului Romanesc din Toronto va avea totusi loc, dar mai tarziu. Pre-Festival screening incepe maine, Sambata, 16/04/2011.

Astazi are loc MaraTOROnul, si m-am gandit sa postez lista filmelor aratate. Si cum acest eveniment este in scopuri caritabile, m-am gandit sa listez si ONG-urile mele preferate.

Am avut un week-end destul de plin, si ca de obicei, mi-au iesit numai 30% din chestiile pe care mi le-am dorit.

There was a time when talking about TIFF meant an image. Then, starting around 1975, it meant the Toronto International Film Festival. Then Romania thought that copying this name is OK, and now I find that I have to differentiate between tiff.ro and tiff.net. Here we are simply listing the Romanian movies at TIFF.net (in Toronto).

Este mai putin stiut azi ca Romania a incercat si ea o primavara relativa prin anii ‘60. Lucrurile s-au inrautatit treptat in anii ‘70 aducand Romania intr-un faliment al optimismului in anii ‘80. Ceva s-a intamplat, dar ce?
