Much to my surprise, a movie featuring Elisabeth Hurley and filmed entirely partly in Romania has no review that I can find.

Uichendu' trecut nu mi-au iesit toate pasientele, si m-am gandit sa ma confesez si sa-nghit niste carbohidrati imbibati in vin dup-aia. Si uite-asa m-am trezit cumparand un belet pe care de fapt il castigasem...

Cum ziceam in 10 intamplari, Vineri am fost la vizionarea unei selectii de filme romanesti facute de studenti UNATC ca proiecte de graduare. Multe au fost premiate la diverse festivaluri, si dupa vizionare am avut un Q&A cu profesori de film de la York University.

Nu m-am dus la festival decat la cateva filme. M-am gandit sa scriu despre ele acum, cat sunt inca fresh si chiar sa prezint cateva shorts (scurt-metraje) intr-o colectie.

This is an (Austro?-)German movie shortlisted for the Foreign Oscar and filmed in Bucharest. It’s great and rated 7.6 on IMDB, with a Metascore of 93. It is also remarkably warm and positive toward Romania.

Despite this being one of the reasons I started this blog, the more I try to engage in online debates, the angrier and more unsatisfied I get. Before I decide to completely and always avoid them, it may be worth looking into why they are this way.

There was a time when talking about TIFF meant an image. Then, starting around 1975, it meant the Toronto International Film Festival. In the past few days, most of the Romanians I know received two important gifts: PSD didn’t win the elections and Dragnea, its [widely considered] corrupt boss, was sentenced to jail and went there shortly thereafter. Though I’m not a Dragnea/PSD fan, I find the celebrations a bit empty. What bugs me is that only one candidate answered my questions re: #EP2019, and I fear that the vast majority of voters never tried to clarify the programme of the candidates they voted for, nor have they tried to interact with them. Let's try to find reasons.
